Ross School of Business undergrad vs. LSA Economics undergrad University of Michigan

Does anyone know how useful an undergrad degree in business from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business and an Economics degree compare? What major is better overall?

I wish someone would’ve answered this. Lol.

Ross is much more valuable than LSA’s economics, unless you want to be an economist

Depends what you mean by better. I assume you are referring to job prospects at graduation, and Ross is clearly better there. It has a much better placement office and brand name recognition. LSA Econ is actually one of the better LSA majors for getting jobs, especially if you get good grades, but it won’t be recruited nearly as well as Ross.

Long term, it won’t make much difference since the fact you graduated from Michigan is about all that people will notice in most cases.

If you are looking to go back for a top ranked MBA later, LSA Econ is probably the better academic route to go. Ross BBA may not be the best thing due to the duplication it would present to admissions committees, but the catch-22 is that you need decent work experience to get into the MBA program, and its easier to get a good job after graduation with a Ross degree.
