Rounding a grade up

Hello,

So I ended up with an 89.98 in my biology lab class. I calculated that I only need .05 points to get up to a 90, which is an A. Furthermore, on the syllabus, it stated that an a is > or equal to a 90.0 while an A- is greater than or equal to an 86.7. Assuming one sig fig, my grade should be rounded up to a 90.0 rather than an 89.9. How should I approach my TA (who runs to class) to bump up my grade? He is a very nice and chill guy.

Wow that’s very close lol…
I’d just tell him exactly what you’ve said here. I’m sure he’d understand.

Why do you assume one sig figure?

I think they mean decimal place, not sig fig – otherwise an 86 would be a 90 too.

You can always ask, they can always say no.
