rowing

I am currently a freshman in high school and I am five foot four and I am a rower. My averge gpa freshman year was a 3.48. I know not all that impressive. But sophmore year I am bringing my gpa up to a 3.68. Also on my last 2k I got 8:13. Not the best. This summer I am going to work out extra hard and due to my shorness I am going to try to gain more muscle mass to make up for that.. and by the end of the summer my goal is a 7:56 (freshman year). Am I eligble for a place like Stanford when I get my gpa to be a 3.68? or any place in California? or any other place in the US? Also, by the way I am a lightweight and female.

To be a really strong candidate for Stanford recruitment, I think you’ll want to be pulling around 7:40 (but preferably a couple seconds faster) by the end of junior year. As far as academics are concerned, I think all the top tier schools want you to be 700+ on all sections of the SAT, with around a 3.7-3.8 GPA. By the way, for a freshman, your 2k time is right around where you want it to be.
