<p>Hey, so im stuck between the Civil engineering programs at both RPI and Lafayette. Lafayette will leave me about 40k in loans when I graduate and rpi will be about 80k. I have visited both and I like both, so I would lik to kno what u guys have to think:)</p>
<p>That’s too big of a difference in debt ==> Lafayette, which is a fine school. I think you should figure out what the monthly loan payments will be after you graduate.</p>
<p>Everyone is going to be in debt after college. You have to look at the quality of education you’ll get and the weight of the name behind your degree. RPI is more recognized than Lafayette.</p>
<p>Again, be an engineer and run the numbers…</p>
<p>Well im particularly interested in the strength of the civil engineering departments. Any say on that?</p>
