I'm planning on majoring in ME but also want to do something (minor maybe?) in math.
I've got my decision down to these two - any suggestions, input...

RPI by a LOT!!!!!!!!!! TOP NOTCH engineering education. Don't even think about WPI (Wannabe polytech).

The department head at University of Arkansas used to be a professor at WPI. He made it sound like WPI was quite an excellent place. I'd say they are pretty close in quality...probably an edge to RPI.

I liked WPI more, mostly for the I didnt feel like I was living in a cave factor. I also just liked the feeling of WPI better, the people and I meshed better, and so did the campus. It was brigher, cheerier, and just felt nicer to me. Tory on the other hand... well, I called it the Troylet if that says anything. I really did like WPI, I would have really considered it had they given me money that they had mentioned to me they might have given me. (long story.. but Im bitter) . WPI to me also when my application had problems had less red tape, RPI had lots. THis to me sent up flags, and lots of them. I did not want red tape all the time during school. I know a lot of people at WPI who adore it, I know people at RPI who love it. I also know a few from RPI who have run due to it being troy and RPI.
The schools are probably of about the same caliber, so look at student life and where you'd be happiest. If youd be happy in a cave with Uber Nerds who never leave their rooms, then RPI. If you;d be happy in a colder place with nerds who do leave their rooms, WPI.
