Rsi 2007

rejected....damn

umm i got accepted as an alternate? i was actually really stunned, because my essays were crap. i forgot about RSI and ended up writing my app on the day before it was due/basically the day it was due, since i had to postmark it. my recs must've been amazing.

anyway, off to send them a letter. =)

my teacher didn't show me the letters. i tried holding it up to a bright light to see if the letters would bleed through. i saw a lot of "very very very."

nothing here in Wisconsin either. can't wait till tomorrow.

I was rejected, too... oh well. (I live in CT, and it came in the mail today.) I'll spend the summer at NIH and hopefully have a great experience.

Congrats to those who've got in!

Rejected... sigh.... West Coast.

hmm.. i live in ohio.. lol, not that far...

yeah, what IS his first choice? must be pretty good :P

rejected, east coast

last year a student pulled out due to the chemistry olympiads. It's uncommon but happens. One year, two students didn't go to RSI, and that was enough to cause concern for CEE.

No letter for me yet... :( Hopefully it will come tomorrow.

Congrats to those who got in though! :)

Rejected.

As odd as it may seem, I was pretty happy. I don't think my passion is scientific/mathematical research, and I'm glad it came through in my application.

I have more time to search for my passion this summer (and for the rest of my life). :]

A decision made by a board of trustees who had read your application shouldn't determine what your passion is.

It would never determine my passion. What I meant was, if I was accepted, I definitely would have attended it. I don't think I would have had much time this summer to explore different things. I love biochemistry, nonetheless, but I'm not in love with it. I hope to find that which I am in love with. With more time comes more contemplation

Rejected. :( BTW I'm on the west coast.

Hopefully I can get into my backup program; I'd probably still have a great time there doing research.

Congrats to those who got accepted! I guess I can't meet you cool/amazing people this summer, but maybe some other time in the future ... :)

::Proceeds to drift away from this thread::

i'm worried if CEE got my application, cuz i didn't include a postcard. i totally missed that part. ahh~ i want my letter : (

Thank you for the people who responded to my question about
my son's acceptance. He will respond to the acceptance this weekend
and pull out if necessary.

With my son's permission, I can tell you - he would prefer to go to Black MOP. RSI fits in well with his long term goals, but MOP fits in well with his short term goals.

not in
decision came yesterday while I was in Atlanta on a college visist

it was a good experience though

yeah it was, it helped me sort out all my credentials and stuff lol

which i shall use to apply for my next program :P

I'm in.... wonder who I'll be studying with.

Look forward to meeting all of you.

not in. darn

Rejected, so I'm off to MSU for 9 weeks of research with an MIT PhD instead... not too shady of a back-up. Congrats to all who got in, and I'm sure I'll meet you in college! Enjoy RSI for the rest of us.
