Rsi 2012

I was about to send in an update myself. It couldn’t be detrimental right? Why not send it in, I’m just saying a couple awards I’ve gotten since the deadline.

they probably already made decisions by now…but you can still give it a shot! who knows how they do things

heygirlhey13 is definitely right, unfortunately :/

Checking my email has become very stressful now…

I thought that letters came in the mail … do they come via email?

Regarding updating your application: It’s definitely too late by now for these decisions, but if it turns out that you’re waitlisted then it’s worth sending any updates.

@Fawrkes: If you’re rejected you get an email, but if you’re an alternate or accepted you get a letter. At least that’s how it worked last year

I sent an updated transcript along with other information a while back. However, I did so without notifying CEE or anything like that. Do any of you think that’s a huge problem? :/

I don’t think that its a problem, but wether or not it is, there is nothing you can do about it now (except blame your rejection on it if you get one). Personaly, I am going to blame my rejection on a lazily writen teacher recomendation. Does anyone else have something prepared to blame their rejection on?

Not sending in my AP scores? I wrote that I’m an AP National Scholar, which means I haven’t gotten less than a 4 on my 8 ap tests (I’ve only gotten one actually), and they can see from my transcripts all the APs I’ve taken but I don’t know…

I think the best blame for all of us would be : There were better applicants :PP Hahahaha. I’m sure all of us are stellar students, but at the same time, I’m sure that there are those out there more stellar :/

Hey guys. RSI alum here. Just want to wish you all the best! Last year rejections were sent out by e-mail and they were sent on different days. Acceptances came in by snail mail; but it may be different this year (the whole application seems a bit different). I’m anxiously awaiting the results of my counselor application XD

I know CEE has every right to send out results how they wish, but I wish that it were a little more uniform and/or better communicated

theyre probably sending out the mail tomorrow! and emails a day later or something

@ iambenk : I’m totally with you. But understand that RSI is perhaps one of the most prestigious summer programs, receiving over 2000 applicants domestically and internationally. Establishing a set date for rejections, acceptances, or waitlists is near impossible. But don’t get me wrong, I wish it weren’t this way :stuck_out_tongue: Good luck again, guys, for the bajillionth time.

@iambenk how do folks take 8 APs by jr yr? I don’t think I stand a chance a chance just having taken 4 in my jr yr first sem and not taken any AP exam thus far…good luck all

@stanfordready: Ermmm I took two my freshman year (APUSH and comp sci A) and 6 my sophomore year (bio, chem, lang, euro, psych, and e sci). The last two were self study. Don’t worry about not having 8+ AP’s, according to collegeboard there’s only ~30 kids across the country with that many in our grade

@ iambenk : I wanted to avoid conceit, but join the club  I have 9 but with 2 4s  There’s this girl in a school in my county that has 8 5s, but I was too scared to ask her ): Wow I probably sound like a conceited jerk. But honestly, I don’t think APs weight that much in the selection process for RSI hahah

Everyone knows that you can be as conceated as you want on the internet. No one here knows you, so its O.K. :). By the way, I don’t have a problem with a little bit of bragging so long as the person doing the braging actualy has something to brag about.

More accurately: there were too many good applicants. That’s the problem, really, there are just far more than 50 qualified applicants and they have to choose somehow.
