Rsi 2012

I love that this thread is finally getting so much attention :D

I’m in love with RSI, but I’m not getting any hopes up at all…

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC

I have done 9 APs with 5s in all, and I am doing 3 APs this year. Here is the breakdown:

8th grade - AP Calc BC
9th grade - AP CS, AP Physics B
10th grade - AP Physics C (counts as two), AP Chemistry, AP Latin, AP World, AP Statistics
11th grade - AP US, AP Bio, AP US

I will not be surprised if there are many like me or better in the applicant pool.

@ atomicbaseball : Amen.

@ Bioboy12 : Yes, it’s the craze before acceptances bites lip nervously And dood, same :/

@ tripos : Like. A. Boss.

Just proves the point that this applicant pool is ridiculous when you have so many juniors who have already take 8+ APs

Makes me wanna’ cry hard, pack my bags, go home, and give up  Hahahahaha

@tripos, what math class are you in now?

@RSIuser: Here are my math courses:

9th grade - Multivar (sem 1) and DiffeQ (sem 2)
10th grade - AP Statistics, Group Theory, and Topology
11th grade - Signals and Systems (sem 1) and Linear Algebra (sem 2)

I’m going to need a new supplier of math courses next year. Where did you take Signals and Systems? That sounds interesting.

@RSIuser: in our high school.

Could tomorrow be the day…

tomorrow might indeed be the day
tuesday at the LATEST
im getting very worried!!! i feel pathetic just waiting…
i need to distract myself

I’m saying tomorrow and Tuesday will be e-mails. I’m still going with last year’s precedent that acceptances will NOT come out this week. Or if they do, Thursday at the earliest :/

CEE said notification of acceptance by mail in the first week of March of its site though…who knows. Watch nothing happen tomorrow lol

man i wish waitlist was also by email
id hate to have like everybody getting those rejection emails
and your hopes are all up
but then its like. oh yah. waitlist. T____T
and its nearly impossible to get in if youre waitlisted since most people who get into rsi go…

@ heygirlhey13 : I totally agree. Like. TOTALLY. Waitlist pretty much equates with rejection. Who wouldn’t go to a 5 week FREE program of intensive research at MIT? :/

if i do get rejected i want it tomorrow! get it over with!!! lol
7 people from my school applied…but since we’re in bay area, watch all of us get rejected T__T

good luck to all of you guys!

@tripos: we are almost exactly the same in terms in math classes taken, except i took diffeq instead of topology and noneuclidean geo instead of signals and systems

also, took physics b chem ap sophomore year, with bio h frosh. right now taking phys c and bio ap, biochem, and neuroscience

go latin 4ap virgil soph year!

do you think you’ll do real analysis next?

Wow, I am deeply impressed by your math knowledge. Our school goes up to BC Calc, nothing further. I’m sure you all could teach us better than our teachers can. At least I’m applying more for research science, rather than math. Maybe emails will come out today, as I’m fully expecting one. Good luck everyone, unless you’re from MA.

And GENERALLY, around 1-2 people get in off the ~10-20 person waitlist. So it just is like going through the entire process again, with similar odds.
