Hi, all!
I am a high school sophomore at a top high school in the US. Since I have heard about RSI, it has been my dream to get into it. Could past RSI participants or anyone who knows how admissions work possibly provide any tips?
Stats:
GPA (UW): 3.96 (A- in Honors Language freshman year)
SAT: 2350
PSAT: 210 freshman year, (predicting around 1500 this year)
Classes:
Eighth Grade: AP WH, AP Physics 1
Freshman Year: AP USGOV, AP COMPGOV, AP CALC AB, Honors Language, Honors Chemistry, Honors Literature, Spanish
*All 5s on AP Tests.
Sophomore: AP CS, AP Lang, AP CALC BC, AP Euro, AP Chem, AP Econ (both), Honors Bio, Honors Spanish
Junior: AP Physics 2, AP Bio, AP Literature, AP Stats, AP Spanish, AP USH, Math Capstone, Chem Capstone
Extracurriculars: Microfinance Club Founder and Lead, Debater (captain and nationals qualifier), NHS, Science NHS, School Science Journal/Magazine, MUN, Red Cross, a ton of startup innovation and ventures, a ton of competitive programming (hackathons, etc.)
Startup Stuff: I do a ton of product development and biz strategy for different startups. I am a founder of 2, and one of them is nearly worth $1M. Other one is educational initiative, and it recently just raised funding from multinational companies.
Research: I am an independent researcher in AI and data science. I have a paid research internship for Summer 2016 at Harvard for a compbio cancer lab with a well-regarded professor. I am interested in compsci big data and pattern recognition applications to finance and bio. I am working on an AI project right now for this year’s science fairs.
Science competitons: I have been prepping for ChemOlympiad, Computing Olympiad, and AMC. I am confident for ChemOlympiad and AMC that I will do well based on a ton of practice exams.
Essentially, what strengths/weaknesses do I have that would help/risk my chances for RSI? Does my Harvard internship and my startup innovation-oriented ventures help?
