Rugby team?

Does the rugby team have a coach since it is a club sport? Also where could you find out information about KP'S rugby team?

I received information from the captain's mom, who is in TX. They are a club sport, and do have a coach. He's a Seton Hall Grad who was in the army for a while. He has been playing rugby since he was a teenager. A nice guy. Can't remember his name. I met him this weekend at the tournament, which was in Sea Girt, NJ. It was alot of fun. Interesting sport. Girls play too! It's kind of a cross between football, soccer and wrestling!

Rugby is a club sport at KP and most colleges. My son (1st class) has been playing since 9th grade and loves it. The link to the NY Met Union, which is KP's league for rugby, is Met NY Rugby Union. They are under Colleges, Division I. Their first game is 9/21 at KP vs. Fordham. KP has an awesome team and was unbeaten in last fall's season. In fact, they reached the #20 spot on AmericanRugbyNews.com's list of the top 25 collegiate teams in the country last year!

The NY Met Union website lists several student contacts at KP for rugby. KP Rugby doesn't have their own website, so it's best to email players/captains for more information. And if you're in the area, come to one of the matches-it's an intense game to watch. 45 minutes halves, no stoppage of play, no pads (only mouthguards and cleats). For anyone who wants to learn more about the game itself, there's a Rugby for Dummies book out that's very informative. If mids at KP want to play rugby, they don't have to have any experience-they will teach them. It's a great stress reducer!

GO KINGS POINT RUGBY!!
