World History-3

Planning on taking these classes next year:

Maybe AP Lit and Gov
Calc 3 with Pass/Fail Grading system.

Extracirruculars:
150+ Volunteer hours at University's Hospital.

Fun tidbit:
Highly ranked in league of legends, played competitively during one summer with a team and won multiple tournaments under the go4lol and esl esports organizations. I totalled around $500 in winnings.

What are my chances at:
University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign's engineering program
University of Michigan-college of engineering
Northwestern
Washu
Cornell
UC Berkely
Rice
Vanderbilt
Carnegie Mellon
Duke

More specifically, do I have a shot at Northwestern's ED?

You’ll make U of I engineering most likely. Northwestern will be a low/mid reach, much better with ED, same with cornell and Berkeley. Slightly better chances for Rice/Vanderbilt. Duke will be tough unless you do ED. Good luck!

chance me back?

thanks! would appreciate more opinions!

What is your uw GPA in 4.0 scale?
You may want to get a higher SAT2 score for those schools require it.
Your ACT score is at the 75% of UIUC and UMich engineering.

3.77/4.0, school does not weight.

Ok I don’t really see why you’re “sub-par”… Yes, a lot of students on CC have a 4.0 GPA and all 5’s on fifteen AP’s, but you’re still an incredibly applicant, your grades, scores, and ECs far above the majority of students out there. So please, don’t sell yourself short.

UIUC: high match
UMich: low reach
Northwestern: low reach (better chances for ED)
WashU: high reach
Cornell: mid reach
UC Berkeley: high reach
Rice: low reach
Vanderbilt: low reach
Carnegie Mellon: low reach
Duke: low reach

Good luck!

^ Pretty much agree with these assessments. GPA is a bit low for top engineering schools.

Rank?
Top 10%?

You have solid chances at Michigan and UCB.

UIUC: Great chances

“my sub-par asian male credentials”

Yes, for NW, Duke and Vanderbilt.

For UMich and UIUC engineering, average GPA 3.9, mid50 ACT 31-34. Note the low acceptance rate for UMich.

ahh thanks! I think my gpa is far too low though.

^ It will be around 25%. Not too bad considering your ACT to be at 75%. However, you do not show a rigorous course load from your AP classes. This and the low GPA together may hinder you.
