Running out of time on the ACT.

I have been taking practice ACT tests and I seem to run out of time on the Reading and Science sections.
Do you have any strategies or suggestions to help me?

On the science, do not read the passage and try to process everything. Skim hte background info to know key words, go straight to the questions, and go directly to the figures which they refer to. Unlike reading, there are not really any “big picture” questions.

For reading, most of the questions have their answers explicitly stated in the passage. I usually give hte passage a quick read, go to the questions, and play hide and seek to find hte line which pretty much gives the answer away.
