I have a question! I’m paying for my potential involvement in greek life by myself (parents won’t pay) I have a campus job. I was wondering if it would be detrimental for me to ask about payment plans for dues at the beginning of the recruitment process, or towards the end. Should I be upfront. Should I ask my rho gamma? Also, when do you pay your dues - once you get your bid (if you get one) or afterwards!?
Just be upfront about it. People should be pretty helpful and willing to work with you. I’m not exactly sure how a payment plan would work exactly, since dues are through Cornell’s netpay. You can set up a payment plan with the university itself.
For my fraternity, I didn’t pay my pledge dues until after I was initiated. Full membership dues were on the bill for the next semester. Not sure if different frats/sororities do it differently. Like I said, you should just ask!
Ask once you have the bids you want-not before.
