Is there a separate rush for sophomores/juniors or do they have to rush with freshmen in the spring? If so, are they at a disadvantage for being older?

A young woman I know is a sophomore transfer who just pledged. She went through regular rush, and there did not seem to be any disadvantage due to not being a freshman.

don’t hold me to this…but I believe for guys, sophs (and maybe transfers) do have a chance to join in the fall.

Depends on the frat. There were definitely rushes in the fall.

The only one I checked was BYX, and they don’t seem to care whether one is a transfer or not.

sophomores can pledge in the fall

Sophomore girl transfers can go through fall “informal” rush, or wait until spring and join the freshmen. Fall is much more laidback and, apparently, fun, than the stiffness of spring rush.

I’m not sure exactly if guys work the same way, since freshmen guys rush for the whole first semester as opposed to just a week in January.
