Is it true that College Board is ripping us off with the rushing option? I think I was speaking with a Duke admissions officer, and she was like, "you do know that rushing doesn't do you any good right? It doesn't really take College Board 3-5 weeks to send your regular scores, they do it right away. They're just trying to make money off of you."

I felt really stupid after that.

So I didn't rush my Nov. scores to any of my colleges. Was this a dumb decision?

Nope. From what I remember, most colleges get scores sent to them electronically at specified times (maybe once a week or something). If a score is rushed, it is simply sent right away. However, rushed scores come in a different format than regularly sent scores, the reason many schools won't accept them.

I may be completely wrong on this, though.

rushed scores come on paper. the adcoms still have to manually data entry those scores (more unescesasry work).

I rushed my scores and Cornell had them not two days later, and already updated them on my application status. I say it's worth it.
