I just rushed all of my SAT scores to Dartmouth, Brown, and Penn. However, I was just warned against doing this (repeatedly). Should I not have rushed my scores? Is this a bad thing? What should I do?

What's done is done. You can't change it now so don't worry about it. Hey, Christmas is coming up, enjoy the break instead!

what would be wrong with rushing? I rushed mine to the UC's...I thought it would be a good thing...to assure they get there on time.

I got a question, I chose to send my scores to colleges with the December 4 SATII registration. Would the colleges receive the scores for the Dec. 4 SATII's, or will they receive all my scores (SATI and II)?

They get everything, SAT I and II, and all the scores from all your previous testings.

Hm, I guess you shouldn't have rushed your scores. I read this somewhere on a school site. I think it was NYU. It said something like if you rush your scores they will get there later than if you do it regularly, thus, making the decision making process take longer. A lot of school usually receive their scores electronically and so if you rush them it's by paper and it's a lot more tedious for them so that's what I read, but then again my GF rushed her scores to all of the schools she applied to Brown, Columbia, etc. She did this about 1 week or less before the deadline and now she's at Brown. So I don't really think you have to worry.

I think it's more of an issue with convenience for the university.

Hope this helps.

You can rush but it doesn't matter because it's going to be forever before they make decisions anyway. Rushing doesn't help at all... I don't imagine that it would hinder them though.

So if I haven't sent any colleges my SAT or ACT scores yet, and the deadlines are January 1, should I rush them or not rush them?

thanks for the reply

bump........

yea really wtf, someone told me to rush mine. btw its dec 22.

bump......

Not a big deal, I think, it won't make much of a difference in how fast they get there (no more than a week or so) and they still have months and months until everything gets read and all the decisions are made.

I thought it takes 3-4 weeks to send them?

Me too....

"So if I haven't sent any colleges my SAT or ACT scores yet, and the deadlines are January 1, should I rush them or not rush them?"

Some schools do not want rushed scores, because those are sent in a different format or something. You have to check with the schools.

=/ I tried, but most schools are closed for holiday break. Perhaps there's an overall theme with the colleges about which they prefer? Sounds like rushed scores are a hassle for schools.
