Russia, Ukraine...and any other Russian speaking country

Hey guys,
I just wanted to post a thread in which Russian speaking people could discuss the application process, scores etc., since the educational system in the countries is basically the same. Also, we are all from the "same region" for admission officers, so it would be interesting to compare extracurricular activities and stuff like that.
P.s. I'm from Kiev, Ukraine

Hi man!
I am from Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Let’s be friends.

Hey! I’m from Ukraine, Kiev. Really glad to meet U here guys))

Wow, I didn’t expect a single person to reply here! Nice to meet you people.

What colleges are you applying to? What are your stats? It would be nice to compare our apps.

Anyone guys?

Hey. Lviv, Ukraine.

My raw list is long enough as for now, about 40 LACs.
90% of these schools tend to offer full rides to int’ls.

Aiming super high doesnt give “good chances”.
I would advise small private colleges instead of NU.
But again - it depends on your goals/ability to pay.

What about stats, comparing to any other RU-speaking students, my are much more below average, even critical to be considered for admission at all. Hopefully they do not reflect real abilities.

Any thoughts about 12- to 4.0- point GPA conversion?
If to believe CB table, we may only get 3.7 or 4.0
What about somewhere lost “3.8” and “3.9”?

[How to Convert Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale](How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture)

If you already have any experience on how to convert our grades, share - it would be useful for everyone here, but seems each school uses own system.

mimicore,

There is no need to convert your GPA to a 4.0 scale since the application has an option to choose which scale you prefer. Therefore, you indicate your GPA on a 12.0 scale.

What grade are you in? Do European universities you’re applying to offer a full scholarship?

Thank you Mihalich.

I just want to know how much points on 4.0 scale applies to 11.12/12.

11th. Yes they do offer full rides.

mimicore,
Since there are no precise rules you can only guess at how to convert it. But I’m sure that 12 is equal to 4 :P

Well there wont be ukraine anymore in a couple months anyway :stuck_out_tongue: So thread name should just be Russia

bearcats, I’m Ukrainian and your post does sound offensive. Watch your mouth.
