So I got into SAS NB but not into Business school NB. I want to major in finance but I can’t so I have to change my major to economics. When I get to Rutgers in the fall, is it possible to change my major to finance?
School to school transfer. Take all pre-business courses in SAS, pull a high GPA and apply for the transfer. Until then, you can’t major in finance. All this assuming you are transferring as a sophomore and not a junior.
To be eligible to apply from SAS to RBS, you will need to complete 24 credits. If you are a freshman, you can take liberal art classes which are also part of the RBS curriculum. It’s not a free pass though! It’s very difficult to get into RBS-NB with a GPA lower than 3.8. If you’re confident you can beat that GPA easily while taking college classes, then go for it. If you think otherwise; then pay a visit to the advising center to discuss your options. Don’t start something that there is no guarantee you will be able to transfer later. You may be stuck with a school that you didn’t want in the first place.
