i visited rutgers recently and loved it. however, I don't know if my dream will come true

no job (yet)
no community service (yet)
all honors classes

the main thing im concerned with is the job/ community service. also, what is the ideal SAT score for Rutgers NB? Also, im in state. THank you

To have a chance of acceptance at Rutgers? I say you have a good chance.
Make sure:

1) You try to get above a 550 in each section of the SAT. Try to get a composite score of 1700 or above.
2) Don't let your GPA drop
3) Apply before the priority date (December 1)

The fact that you take all honors class, have a GPA above 3.5, ranked in the top 25% of your class, involved in activities, AND is a Jersey resident makes you have a good chance of getting into Rutgers. Just make sure you perform well on your SAT and that you receive nothing less than a B- in your classes (1 C is okay, but make sure your grades don't slip)

Oh, and you won't be rejected if you DON'T have a job nor community service. Go ahead and get involved in your community though :)

what about SAS??????????????

yeah, if you are applying to the School of Arts and Science I say you definitely have a good chance. Just score well on your SATs like I said and continue to do well in your classes. :)

thanks a lot. just one question about the grades. i already have 2 C's this year but i was wondering.. why don't they just check your GPA instead of the actual grades?

They check both GPA and your actual grades (The grades are on your transcript). Your two C's won't kill you....Rutgers look at your overall grade for each school year.

For Example: So if you received a B, B, C, B in Math during your junior year for marking period 1,2,3,4 (respectively), your final average grade (around a B) would be what Rutgers see on your transcript.

Don't worry. Just make sure you do better the next marking period and don't fall below a C (avoid Ds and Fs).

thanks, you've helped a lot

Are you in-state? If so, you're in man..
get above a 2000 on the SAT's for a chance in the pharmacy school though..
you dont need community service

yea im in-state, but actually want to be pre-med so i wanna get into SAS. thank you for the words of encouragement

i think you have a very good chance (in-state)
