I called and checked, all merit has already been send if you got the financial aid package .
So no additional Honor college Merit .
We contacted re: Mason Gross financial aid and were told should be posted by end of next week.
Does anyone know when waitlisted students would hear back? I got waitlisted at 2 Rutgers New Brunswick schools and I would like to get into either or.
what was your stats?
3.7 unweighted gpa, a lot of extracurriculars got waitlisted at SAS and EBS
typically not until after May 1- the date schools are able to verify yield.
If fewer accepted students enroll than projected, they turn to the waitlist. This is a tough year for admissions given the unprecedented number of applications. Rutgers in not known for placing a large number of students on waitlist so this may be a decent sign for you. Good Luck!
If anyone gets off the waitlist for Rutgers New Brunswick please lmk!!!
I am going into my son’s portal now to decline his acceptance to SAS. Here’s hoping it will enable someone else to get off of the waitlist. This year was quite a ride! Grateful he found somewhere he absolutely LOVES and we can now focus on battling senioritis… LOL!
I just read this thread and WOW…looks like Rutgers admission was a mess this year. Makes me wanna reconsider having son apply next year. Geeeeeez!
I know someone who got full tuition. A lot of times people go online to complain rather than talk about good experiences. Think that’s the nature of the internet.
Better than Syracuse, imo. I think having a new admissions system created some problems, but the Rutgers communication could use some work as well. That’s kind of how it is when you attend - very large university system where the students have to figure out how things work.
Clearly you do not seem to be paying attention to how poorly U Mich and others handled this cycle.
In the end, most punted and placed large, unprecedented numbers on the Waitlist.
Rutgers is fairly unique in that it allows multiple submissions which compounds the challenges predicting yield/ managing capacity limitations. While not ideal for many students, in comparison, it did a relatively good job given the increased scale of applications
Rutgers recently announced they were giving full tuition to need based students. I wonder the percentage of NJ residents offered the free tuition and the percentage of NJ students accepted. I am also curious how many out of state students were offered instate tuition.
In this case it was merit-based aid not need based.
If you look at all of the big state universities, it’s a commonality this year. Ohio State was a doozy! They gave 2 dates EA responses would come out and missed both dates for 1,000’s of students and then deferred them to RD. If you’re looking for a smooth, easy process, large state schools are probably not your friend. Good luck!!!
Was the student in-state or out of state for the full ride tuition?
In state.
Glad to hear it was In-state.
