@Emerica Thats a shock, because there are people with lower stats than you, who got into SAS especially the those who go to my school. Plus, you appiled much eariler. I hope you get into the other two you appiled for. I am still waiting for SAS and SBES.

omg I’m so sorry Emerica. I guess there go my chances too

I applied for fall 2010 for SAS at both New Brunswick and Newark. I hear Newark is easier to get into than Brunswick. However, I applied before January 15th and am waiting for a reply. I’ve been at a CC for almost 3 years and I’m ready to transfer. My cumulative GPA is kind of low (below a 3.0) but last semester I pulled off a 3.2. I wrote my essay on my struggle through school and my learning disability and how much it has brought me down but that I finally pulled myself through, as well as that I dedicate myself to doing good and putting in the extra effort. What do you think? I’ve had B’s and C’s and no one F’s that have been marked on my transcript incorporated with my GPA. Last semester I pulled 2 A’s 1 B and 1 C as well as a C+ but it was a math non-credit course. I also explained my struggle with math but I am passing and dedicating the time for that as well. I’m really nervous because I know people that have better grades than me got rejected so… it doesn’t make me feel too great I have a lot of credits since I have been at a community college so… what do you think are my chances or what do you think they could do?

Emerica!!! ***!! I dont believe it… You said your GPA was 3.2 and you said you take Calculus…what about the sciences?

And 1810 SAT (1220 M+CR. 610 each). Sciences I took chemistry and physics… didn’t do too hot in those though chem i just never understood really and physics I had a horrific teacher so I never understood anything, but of course all that physics makes sense when it was shown to me in calc, go figure…

@Emerica: I’ve been reading this thread for a while now and I was wondering if you’ve heard from other schools other than the SAS? GOOD LUCK BTW!!!

Nope both still in process lushhh

Emerica, don’t sweat it. I was waitlisted from Rutgers also but got into my reaches Purdue, Michigan State. You could always go out-of-state for a year or go to a CC then transfer back to Rutgers after doing well for a year. You never know if going to another school may lead to a better time in college.

Emerica! You should email Lee Ann Dmochowski, she’s really helpful!
Ask her politely if there’s anything else you need to send to the college to help your app. I did the same thing she said she would take a look at my app and the next thing I know, I was accepted! :D

her email address is dmochowski@ugadm.rutgers.edu

Good luck!

The only reasonable assumption I can think of is that you got all B-s and Cs in all your major classes (math, science, english) and got As in your electives which brought up your GPA…Do you mind sharing yor SRAR?..

Is hearing back from them early a bad sign though? ugh…

So apparently the reason I was rejected from SAS is cause my GPA recalculated was under a 3.0… It was mostly the C in Chem and C in Physics (physics…I had serious issues with the teacher). But apparently I look good for Engineering or Business because I have strong math courses…

So long story short, Business looks better than SAS for me… This totally makes sense, right?

Yeah you’re pretty much spot on. But oddly enough this isn’t explaining why I was so close to admission for University of Colorado’s engineering department (which they’re taking a second look at come April).

Oh…I really don’t know what to tell you…I hope you have other schools in mind (NJIT lol)…I’m surprised they put "Not Admitted’ rather than put you on the waited list …I mean if your GPA is really under 3.0 then you have a low chance for engineering and business school …Unless you get put on the waited list for engeering and then it would be like a 40% chance of getting in =

Apparently I’m in “further review” for engineering and business as of right now.

What they told you makes no sense. It is harder to get into Business or Engineering than SAS.

Haha hence the sarcasm at the end of #212. I’m quite confused right now to say the least.

@Emerica Did you call them or email them to find out?

One of my friends applied like Dec 15th, and had everything sent in by dec 18th. Rutgers wasnt exactly her 1st choice, so she applied later, and she got in today. I dont understand that because I am applied way before deadline, why didnt I find out yet?

@rocker892
I had my guidance counselor email them and they gave me that explanation. I have an alright feeing about engineering because my girlfriend’s friend got rejected from SAS but got into Engineering so there’s still a chance.
