Thing I’m worried about, though; none of my CC math courses counted as a college algebra…so I have to take the math placement. I need basic calc in my first semester for all of my business courses after…hoping I pass or they can waive it and let me take it at my own discretion.

JenniferRu: I took a probability course that required I place above college algebra via a placement test. So even though I had surpassed College algebra, it didn’t count as meeting the school’s requirement.

hey guys,
i am a transfer student as well and i applied to ru a couple of weeks ago. still no answer for me. but i think it might come much later on since i applied after the priority dates. I hope everything works out for the best. I am so happy I found this forum thread!

I am becoming extremely impatient to hear from RU. Has anyone applied around early February and heard back yet? I mean it’s almost May but I heard transfers could take up to June to hear from them -_-

I’m still waiting too after applying around that time. I’m getting paranoid. At about midnight (which is what I think they mean by it updates every evening), the date changed on my status screen to the date, 4/19, that had just passed. I’m assuming that means they did SOMETHING with the application. The status of the schools I applied to still says in process though.

WOWOW! I don’t know how u managed. I am a transfer student and I applied 2/17, over a month after the priority deadline and I got my decision on 3/22. I waited some 35days (yes I was counting!). I don’t think you’re waiting because of your applying after the deadline, I think it’s because you applied to a school in New Brunswick. I heard back from Newark in a timely manner, but I’m still waiting to hear from New Brunswick. Since I no longer wish to attend there, I emailed admissions so they could withdraw my application so I can pay the enrollment fee before May 1st.

I for sure thought I wasn’t going to hear back from RU until atleast mid may, so i consider myself lucky and clearly highschool grades do not matter because they were terriblleee.

Oh yeh, i know on Star Day we talk with advisors and possibly start making our schedules but it says it is recommended to take the campus tour where an advisor will talk about some stuff their. I have been to Rutgers NB a lot so I kind of no where I am going… The only reason I was going to attend is to see if they would tell me what I need to do before I attend Star Day… Aren;t we supposed to have taken the placement tests and have everything filled out before Star Day?

Thanks JenniferRU, same to you!! I did not know about STAR day, but I am glad to hear about this.

xxnelxx7: I dont think HS transcripts count either, think they just want to make sure u graduated and took the required courses. I was praying that my HS transcripts would not affect their decision because I had below a 2.0!! Thank goodness I was able to attend CC and prove that I was a worthwhile student.

I am soo excited to be continuing my education at RU…it feels like Harvard right about now lol
