My son received a major scholarship to attend RUTGERS Honors College for engineering. The cost would be approx. 8k per year. He was also accepted to Carnegie Mellon at 45k per year. The latter would require loans and we have another child to put through college. Is it worth the cost difference to attend Carnegie Mellon?
Congrats…Carnegie Mellon is a dream college, your second son may get a scholarship , however not guaranteed to get into CM so i would choose CM with maximum student loan option.
Mellon is an elite engineering school, but it’s hard to tell someone how to spend their savings
