i got the james carr scholarship from rutgers (10,000 per year) starting fall 2013
but you need a 3.0 GPA to keep the scholarship.
its my first semester here, and i fell back on my studying and stuff, and I dont think im going to get a 3.0 GPA this semester..

so does that mean i won't get my 10,000 dollar scholarsip ever again?
or do i have the spring semester (spring 2014) to try and bring my GPA back to a 3.0...

Well #1, freaking out about anything never helps, so stop. (this applies to any situation you will ever encounter in your entire life. so now you know)

Don’t assume your grades yet. So many times, my son thought he was getting X grade, and ended up getting a half grade higher because of curves after the final (even from teachers who say they ‘never curve’).

You need to wait and see what your grades are (btw my son still has extra credit things he has to finish so make sure you have completed all extra credit opportunities possible). Then, if you are actually below 3.0, I would immediately call and email your advisor to discuss. If they don’t immediately answer you, I would immediately call and email your dean’s office to discuss. There may be some sort of grace period, I am not sure.

The reason I say ‘call and email’ is because you want to have it covered that you contacted someone. The reason I say ‘immediately’ because so many of my kids’ friends WAIT to do stuff that they should really do right away. This is something that needs your immediate attention.

I would say talk to someone now but I really don’t think that anyone is going to give you a useful answer while your grades are still up in the air. And being on the borderline is different than getting a 1.6 GPA so I hope you are still trying to get your grades back up.
