Rutgers NB math placement test question

Ok so I’ve committed to Rutgers engineering and I found out I have to take a placement test to place into calc 1, but do I only have to take math level 2 for engineering? Also what is specifically on that test, really more or less in trigonometry? Trig proofs? Trig identities? Trig equations? Trig graphs? Unit circle?

Yes, you only have to do level 2. It’s a bit of basic trig, working with powers and exponents, and your typical precalc stuff. Alternatively, if you already have AP credit for Calc AB/BC, they’ll just place you into the appropriate class without taking the placement exam. They may tell you you still need to take the exam, but it’s simply not true.

Trust me, if you can’t place into calculus with a placement exam, you are better off taking pre-calc in college. I would not worry about it, you won’t be the only one in a pre-calc class if that does happen.

The only issue is if you have to take a winter or summer course to stay on track for keeping your math level in line with your engineering classes.

Sorry, I misunderstood your question.

Does anyone know if Rutgers sebs accepts pre calc credit from middlesex county college? I am a senior in hs that will end up with at least a “C” at the end of the year and did already take the math placement test for Rutgers. Just wondering if I did well on the test if they accept those credits or will I most likely be taking pre calc at Rutgers again? I highly doubt I ll get a 4/5 on my final exam so that won’t count! Thanks for any info you may have for me!
