So I have the placement test this Saturday...and like many students I am getting very nervous. I'm currently in AB Calc...what material should I review for the precalc section?
I took it last year and don't really remmeber much from the class.
I have credits from Middlesex for precalc, can you transfer them over to rutgers if the worst happens? Or if I get a 4 or 5 on the AP exam, can that be sufficient enough to get placed OUT of precalc if that happens and just back into calc 1?
this is freaking me out! lol

My son is in the same position as you. First off - contact Middlesex and get a transcript of your grade from precalc to Rutgers. You will get college credit for that class provided your grade was high enough (B of better-I think) Review your precalc notes to familiarize yourself with the material. If you do not score high enough on the placement exam you will be placed in preclac. However, If you score a 4 or 5 on the AP test you will not have to take pre calc or Calc 1 at all, regardless of how you do on this placement test. Best of luck and don’t worry. I’m sure you’ll do fine.

The precalc on the placement test is really straightforward and easy. You just have to know very basic stuff like trignometric functions of common angles (i.e. pi/3, pi/4, pi/6, etc). Know the shapes, domain, range, and period of trig graphs. Also, know how to translate and transform graphs. No worries; you will only encounter very basic stuff.
