Hey all! I am a junior in high school and I have a 2.8 GPA right now, hopefully going up to a 3 by the end of the year. The reason it’s so low is because I had a bad freshman year, but since then I’ve gotten all A’s and B’s and I plan on continuing that pattern, and I have a 25 on the ACT (I’m retaking it and hoping for a 26 or 27). I don’t do many extracurriculars because I do theater outside of school and it takes up a lot of time, but I am in 2 clubs. I want to major in education.
My question is which of these two schools are most realistic for me to get into (as in which is more likely). Thank you so much!
Hey! If you have Naviance, use it to compare yourself to other students who have applied to SHU and RU. I think you’ve got a better shot at Seton Hall over Rutgers. You should probably visit your counselor and see what her input is. If you prefer one school over the other, you should definitely do ED or EA. If you don’t get into either of these schools, it’s OK to go to community college. You can do really well there and then if you’re happy with what you have, transfer over to the school that you want.
Hope this helped and best of luck!
Apply to Rutgers as a reach. Seton hall is possible academically but has lousy financial aid, so run the npc.
TCNJ would be great for education but is a reach.
Also possible : Montclair, Rowan, Drew, LaSalle in Philadelphia, CSI on Staten Island, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY fredonia, Ursinus, Arcadia, Lycoming, Elizabethtown, Muhlenberg (reach), Susquehanna …
Run the npc on all of these to start with.
