i got through both of them.............i cant decide where to go....rutgers is way cheaper but kelley has amazing job placements......can u guyz please help me out

Kelley is ranked 18, Rutgers 32. BUT, in the only number that really matters in business school rankings--average starting salary--Rutgers wins, $52,000-46,000

Comparing starting salaries between a school in the New York mero area and a school in Indiana is pretty unfair though. People living in the New York metro area make more money income-wise than most other areas (Indiana included) because the housing and cost of livng is so expensive, and Indiana and Rutgers are both state schools, where I'm assuming most people will eventually work in generally the same area as they attended college. I'd guess the real value of the starting wages would be relatively equal. I'm not trying to bash Rugers, I got into their business school and might end up going there, I just never thought it really was that fair to compare the starting salaries of business school graduates from places in the midwest to the salaries of b-school graduates in places where all salaries are higher because the cost of housing and everything else is so high in the area.

no question IU-Kelley is better. get real, rutgers is a dump (i live in nj).

what matters about b-school is getting the job. 92% of students at kelley have a job offer 1 month BEFORE graduation. i'd like to see rutgers stat.

thanx a lot guyz ....the response really helped...i will most probably go to kelley now.........
about the cost of living though.....indiana room and board is 12000 a year whereas rutgers its 9000.....so i guess its more xpensive to stay in indiana than in new brunswick

Ok, let's control for metropolitan area.

New York: Midwest:

Stern 54,000 Michigan 55,000
Fordham 53,173 WashU 50,000
Cornell 53,000 Illinois 50,000
Rutgers 52,500 Notre Dame 48,815
Indiana 46,000

I rest my case.

How does Emory stack up ? My S is starting there in the fall ?

Ranked 4th nationally, avg. starting salary $50,000, trailing only UVA among Southern schools in both categories.

if u see that stats....rutgers job placement grade is B where as kelley has A+.........so what exactly does that mean?

Subject to correction, I believe that ranking is nothing more than an impressionistic one from students.

steve720 - I take offense to your comment that rutgers is "a dump". I know alot of intelligent people who attend there and turned down prestigious schools due to the debt factor. Sure there may be 'rotten apples' mixed in but it seems like you have very little of an idea about what you are actually talking about.

Rutgers DROPPED 18 spots in the new business week rankings, IU Kelley went up 2 spots. btw, Maas, i invite you to take a stroll through New Brunswick after midnight.
