Rutgers Science Honors vs Lehigh vs PSU

I'm deciding between Rutgers Science Honors, Lehigh, and Penn State. Interested in going Pre-Med (majoring in Bio). Any thoughts on these schools and which one I will most easily be able to get into Med School with?

toss up between rutgers and lehigh.. is money an issue?

The honors program and pre-med things have been discussed a lot on this forum. Scroll down and look through some of the topics that are pertinent.

Money should always be an issue if you're pre-med, unless your parents can cover both your undergrad and med-school (gahhhhh). What can Lehigh offer you that Rutgers can't? Attend the Rutgers Open House next weekend and the Honors Program Scholars Days on Mondays if you can at all. You'll get a good picture of what Rutgers is like... keep an open mind and you'll realize that you can achieve the same things at Rutgers that you can anywhere else (unless you totally can't see yourself at a larger school). I chose Rutgers pre-med over places like Hopkins, Northwestern, and UVa and don't regret it.

What ever you do, DO NOT attend the Rutgers open house. I went there last year and there are so many kids that go to that thing. You won't get a good feel for the college due to this. Try going on a random weekend or , if possible, a weekday. If you go to their open house, you'll be very disappointed though.

That's not necessarily true. Plan what programs you want to go to-- for instance, I went to presentation by the Life Sciences and Chem departments because I wanted to know more about them. I wouldn't waste too much time going to the general things they do at the Open house though, like pyro says they'll be really crowded. I DEFINITELY recommend trying to go to a scholar's day.

Open house can definitely be good if you go in prepared. Scholars day was very good. I think it is also important to tour the school "unannounced" as Pyro says. Perhaps if you know someone here, spend the day with them.

In any case, Lehigh is a great school, but my experiences at Rutgers have been tremendous.
