Thanks kookie1

RUtransfer,

go to njtranser.org, on the left you will see a menu click on RTP (Recommended transfer program) Then select your community college, and which school in Rutgers you are transfering to. Click on your major to verify, and you will then see a list of courses that transfer to Rutgers. If a course you took is not on the list, then it does not transfer to the university.

The only problem with that is that I go to TCNJ, so NJTransfer isn't really going to help me there. I'm hoping they accept my PHY202 credits for two semesters of analytical physics at Rutgers. I don't want to take calc-based electricity and magnetism again...

I just got in arts and science with a 3.71 GPA from Brookdale Community (monmouth county)

i was wondering:

1) i'm looking to be an accounting major what are my chances (if any) of getting into the Business School

2) is it possible to live on college ave. as a transfer student or am i going to get screwed again (wouldnt let me live in a suite with friends) and have to live on Livingston or someplace else...

Congrats oleosmirf!!!
You have a good GPA, so I think you have a good chance getting into the Business School. Good luck!
When did you apply?

thanks

i knew my admission to A & S was a lock but i've been told that Rutgers makes admission to the Rutgers Business School - New Brunswick extremely difficult for tranfer students.

the only thing that might help me is that accounting is not nearly as popular as finance...

congrats oleosmirf,

how many credit did you apply to Rutgers with? did you get accepted to all of the schools that you applied to?

I just checked my status page, and it updated tonight, but still no decision. is that a bad thing?

grats oleosmirf,

I also got accepted to SAS of NB and am planning to apply to business school for accounting. You are right about finance being very popular compared to accounting; infact, finance majors was oversubscribed and will not be open for any more new students. The required gpa i believe for accounting is a 3.5 gpa and they only reserve about 10% seats for transfers.

NJD, My status page was updated tonight also and no decision..

Hi all,
I just checked my status too, and it was updated tonight, but still no decision :( I don't know what does that mean????? Hopefully that's a good sign!

where did you get the 3.5 figure? my friend goes to rutgers his gpa was a 3.25 but he got a letter that states cutoff is 3.3 so he's gonna take a summer class and reapply.. he says everyone gets in that has 3.3. Where did you get the 10% figure also? i don't believe there is a difference if you are transfer or not in the july pool.

3.3 for business school or 3.3 for sas?

After speaking to a business school administrator, admission minimum is going to be around a 3.45 this year due to the quality of this years applicants.

I applied after the priority deadline...has anyone also applied after the deadline and recieved a response? And does anyone know when i should recieve response since i applied after priority deadline I applied late February

hey magent31 and 1kookie1,

do you guys think, maybe we are getting decisions (hopefully accepted) soon?

someone on here said that he/she received a decision 1week after their status page was update.

NJD,
I think we're getting our acceptance letters soon!!!
Admissions received all my doc. by mid Feb. Did you apply around the same time?

NJD Kookie,
Our apps were probably looked at or evaluated and most likely it takes more time to accept someone than to deny them. We should hear back very soon!!!

robteller, my sources are from the senior associate dean and the assistant dean. They told me that only about 10% seats are reserved for transfers for the business school and the required gpa has bumped up to 3.4ish for Finance and Accounting majors only, so maybe that 3.3 gpa applies to other majors such as marketing. This is regarding only to the business school of NB, not SAS.

I forgot to mention that it is NOT guaranteed that if you have the minimum gpa for business school of NB, you will be accepted. That's the minimum to apply, and you will still need to compete with others that have higher GPAs. I know...that sucks.
