Rutgers Undergraduate Business School New Brunswick vs Newark

Hello,

I’m currently a junior at a NJ public school. I’m beginning to consider which colleges interest me, and obviously, being from NJ, Rutgers is one of them. I was wondering what the difference between the undergraduate business school programs at New Brunswick and Newark. Some have told me they are exactly the same thing, but others have told me otherwise. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Rutgers Business School in the Newark Campus and New Brunswick campus are one in the same. If you go to both of their buildings, it is written in their signs as ‘Rutgers Business School Newark & New Brunswick.’

When you graduate from RBS, your diploma won’t specify what campus you attended. It will simply say “Rutgers Business School Newark & New Brunswick.”

The only difference is, since New Brunswick is the flagship campus of Rutgers, it is more competitive than the business school in Newark. I guess you could say that the New Brunswick campus is held to a higher regard.
So in essence, same school, same program, just two seperate locations. The Newark campus provides a lot more opportunities because of the companies in and around Newark and since the City is a 15min ride away. New Brunswick only has J&J, Bristol Myers, Ernst & Young. But if you care about the college experience, then the NB Business school will most definitely provide that.

Time and again, I have been told that the course load at the Newark Campus is light because it’s predominantly a commuter school whereas the NB campus is mainly residential, professors tend to give more assignments.

So there is a big difference in the experience a student will get in the 4 years even if the after graduation experience is the same (the same diploma). New Brunswick will be a fully college experience. But a good experience can be had at both campuses.

Somewhere in the forum I saw someone say that the company recruiters goto NB to recruit new hires more than Newark
