I’m an NJ student who got accepted to both Binghamton and Rutgers NB. I also got accepted into the SAS Honors Program are RU. Neither schools have the exact major I was looking for (International Studies) but Bing has a concentration in IS within their political science major, and Rutgers has a minor in IS under their Department of Geography, so I would be a poli sci major at Bing and possibly a geography major at RU. Binghamton would be cheaper for me, but location-wise I would probably prefer Rutgers. I’m wondering if there are any major differences between these schools (academic quality, reputation, campus life) that would sway my decision?
Binghamton can claim the distinction of enrolling a student body with the highest standardized scoring profile of any public university in the Northeast. As an academic factor, this might merit some weight. Overall, though, your choices reside close enough academically that you can safely choose based on general preferences.
