I asked if there will be a decision before May 1st in the chat with us feature on the Rutgers page, the Scarlet Ambassador, who is not an Admissions officer, said āI donāt think soā.
Thatās so unfortunateā¦ but it seems like we will hear after May 1st. I donāt mind needing to enroll to another school, I just really hope I get into Rutgers even if itās after May 1st. The sooner the better though so I can figure things out and get more settled. So anxious.

Has anyone sent a letter of interest this year? Iāve seen previous years, people sent the New Brunswick Admissions Officer emails, but when I went on their website to contact the undergraduate admissions office, they had the emails listed for Camden and Newark, but not New Brunswick. Which is really weird.
I have, but I just submitted mine in the āask a questionā section for New Brunswick
I think they do this because New Brunswick has a lot more students/ applicants so they donāt have an email because it might be too much for them.

My son decided that if he doesāt hear back from them before May 1st that he will just transfer in then. Heās kinda disappointed. Heās gotten into Rider, Ramapo, Monmouth, Montclair Etc, 9 different ones but Rutgers is the one he really wants. So will see.
they usually update the portal on thursdays at around 7 est so weāll see by tonight

I got an email back saying that decision before may 1st is unlikely

past years, people got off the waitlist around after midnight today
Same for my son. Honestlyā¦ Iām thinking to myself if my sons 3.9 Gpa and AP classes and Honors arenāt good enough them then I have no idea what theyāre looking for. Sad.
Interesting data. My guess is that given larger clarity of those who are not enrolling comes on 1st May, the larger trench of waitlists would possibly get cleared in a week to 10 days thereafter. Have a feeling thereafter it will be a trickle. Good luck!

yeah, thats true but in past years , they released off the waitlist before may 1st. just unfortunate
Hey, did someone from New Brunswick email you back about the letter? Iām very unhappy with my response. It was the automatic pre-typed message of what happens when someone is waitlisted message (that I have seen on their website). The officer responding back to me didnāt acknowledge the letter at all and copy and pasted a message already typed out on their website. Did you get a response similar or more proper?
