If you study there, or know anyone who does...what is it like?
(socially, academically?)

Well if you know anything, please post, no matter what it is!

I quite like Rutgers, but my parents aren't too keen about the East Coast (they want me to go to a UC)...

Thanks!

my older brother goes to rutgers and he is currently in his third year.

It’s not a super competitive school, but it is a great research university. He is a bio major and academically speaking, its very good. Its one of the best state schools and it has alot of diversity. Now, socially speaking, its got alot of parties if you know the right direction to look in. Every year they have Rutgersfest which is full of concerts, booze, girls ;), more girls but sadly they cancelled it this year after a shooting, but it does have amazing night life :)

I live in-state… I know a few people who went there and thought it was AWESOME. But many instate people tend to overlook rutgers and choose worse schools, in state and out of state… I don’t understand why. But it’s a very great school with a lot of opportunities, since it’s close to populated areas.

I am in state too. Most of the people who choose other schools instead of Rutgers choose NYU or Penn State or Northeastern or w.e Living in such a boring town, everyone is just eager to flee from NJ and jump into a city or anything funner but here. Because getting into Rutgers as an in state is pretty easy, people also think that Rutgers is “not good” just because it doesn’t seem competitive because so many people get in. But yup, the price people are willing to pay to get out of this state…

Thank you for your responses!
