Rutgrs VS TCNJ for Education Major ?

<p>Hi everyone, first I want to apologize because I know there are a lot of threads like this already, but none of them have to do with an education major. I want to major in secondary education-english and also do something with creative writing. I was wondering the pros and cons of this for each school?
Here are a few things I know already:
that RU has a 5 years plan to get your masters in this...does TCNJ have this as well? I also am aware that TCNJ used to be just a school for education (atleast my teacher told me that) and that it has a lot more education programs than RU. What else does anyone know?
I've visited RU twice, and am visiting TCNJ in july. I've always loved RU, but after research I've been really looking into TCNJ and I'm liking it, but I'll have to see the campus for sure.
Also, after looking at my statistics do you think I'd make it into these schools?
I'm in state.
Freshman Year: GPA weighted 4.086
Spanish 2: A ; Honors English: A- ; Algebra 1: B+ ; World History Honors: A- ; General Science Honors: B+ ; Electives: A+'s ; Gym: A</p>

<p>Sophomore Year: GPA weighted 3.896
Spanish 3: A- ; Honors English: A ; Plane Geometry: A- ; APUSH1: B ; Honors Bio: B ; Electives A+s and Gym A</p>

<p>Junior Year (I don't know what my GPA is yet since I just finished)
Spanish 4: B+ ; AP English: B+ ; APUSH2: B+ ; Honors Chem: B+ ; Algebra 2: B+ ; Electives A+ and Gym A
SATS: total 1900/2400 Writing: 730 Math: 620 CR: 550</p>

<p>Senior year I'm taking AP English 2, Honors Accouting, Pre-Calc...and then electives and gym (mandatory) and being a half day senior. I don't want to slack too much but my junior year was very stressful (APUSH2 and honors chem are 2 of the hardest, if not THE hardest classes in my school)</p>

I have held an internship with the Nordstrom BP Fashion Board for 09-10 and now 10-11.
I've volunteered at the library for over a 100 hours.
I am the president of the international society (previously vp and before that historian), pres. of book club for two terms, editor in chief of school newspaper (previously assistant editor). I'm also in National Honor Society and Spanish Honor Society, and about 5 other clubs. I like to be involved...lol</p>

<p>tcnj is sort of known for their education so if you’re set on that, then tcnj seems to be a better choice. but overall reputation wise, rutgers is more known than tcnj. kean is another school known for their education program.</p>

<p>I don’t know much about the education program either, but answering your other question about being admitted, I’m sure you’ll be able to get into both schools with your stats. I’d be shocked if you didn’t.</p>

<p>I do hear good things about TCNJ’s program. Both schools have great education programs. But yes, by visiting and getting a feel for the school, that will probably make your decision better. Remember: you want a school with a good reputation in your intended academic major, but you also want to have a great 4-5 years as well. Also, if money is an issue, I would compare the financial aid packages that they give if accepted to both schools.</p>
