Stanford's aid package not only surpassed my Princeton one in terms of grant/scholarship and total aid, but it's twice as much money in need-based scholarship as almost any scholarship I've received on merit. Three cheers for rich schools--I just think it's awesomeness deserved its own thread.

Hmm, mine was relatively mediocre :/

I still haven't sent in my US citizenship thing, but I doubt that'll change it.

When did you get your aid letter? Can I expect mine any time soon?

my package is amazing as well :)
Surprisingly, i have been given a no-loan, all-grant package..

you lucky lucky people...

What kind of packages did you guys recieve? And is it oo late to apply for financial aid?

I second the above question.. Can we still apply for Financial aid? is it too late!?!?

The FAO website says it is not too late. So go on and send the forms immediately.

When meeting need Stanford maxes loans at 2000 and maxes student contributions at 4500. Even though my EFC was 26000, I got 27k in grant/scholarship, 2k in loans, and 2k in work-study/job, leaving 19k for my family to pay, which is lower than I expected by about 7k. It was a huge relief, I can easily attend now.

Congrats on your great finaid package, Murasaki! :)

Mine is really good also. :) I just have 2k in workstudy each year. I've still to get Yale but if Yale's does not match Stanford's, Stanford will be much sweeter.

Stanford is LOANING me 3.5k.... yippee.

i need stanford to match my princeton's aid then...

when did you all get your packages?

just wondering (not sure if i should start a new threat) what does "Acad Year Earnings Expectation" mean? is it the same as work study?

because I am supposed to have 2k under "Acad Year Earnings Expectation " and another 1,700 under student contribution.

Correction to my above post: I also have about 2k in student contribution in addition to the work study but it's still good. :)

For those that got more aid from Stanford than Princeton: I would suggest calling up the Princeton financial aid office and mentioning the competing deals. It won't hurt, and you might end up with a better deal. :)

I haven't gotten my Stanford financial aid package yet! It's pretty much the deciding factor if Princeton will be my 100% choice or if I will consider Stanford way more seriously...I'm so anxious about it. When did ya'll get yours? I'm in Texas...so...maybe tomorrow?

Dang, a lot of people in at Stanford get into Princeton, it seems?
