Ugh. Hate it. That is all. .
I used to love this change. My daughter was a terrible sleeper (until high school!) and it at least gave me the possibility of getting her to sleep an hour earlier. (She woke up fine, no problem getting ready for going to school 2with me on the subway in the morning.)
Honestly, I like it. I hate getting up in the pitch dark and would much rather have light in the mornings. I wish we would just stick with standard time all year around and not have to switch back and forth. I think it would be easier to adjust to the earlier dark if it came gradually.
Left to me it would be daylight savings all year round. Way back in the 70’s I remember the year we kept it year round. I did ride my bike to school in the dark and then watch the sunrise. It was glorius.
Ack. I forgot about this!
Ugh, I hated going to school in the dark. HS started at 7, wasn’t light until halfway through second period.
I’ve read persuasive explanations of why standard is better for our health, and I hate dark mornings. so I would vote for all year round standard time. Where the sun is highest at noon, like it’s supposed to be!
I know YOU know it, but I imagine there are people out there who actually think there’s less natural light when we move the clocks back.
I want natural light after 5 pm, when many of us finish work - before working from home, I’d enter work when the sun was just rising, and exit almost immediately when the sun was setting. Not healthy.
Of course, people’s particular schedules can match up better one way or the other, with the available light. What I found interesting was that apparently our circadian rhythms don’t exactly match a 24 hour day, so that light in the morning pulls our systems back in line with the earth’s rotation.
I am not a morning person. I absolutely hate standard time.
I’m definitely a night person and the dark doesn’t bother me. That being said I don’t have a strong preference between standard and daylight savings time. But I would like the US to choose one and keep it year round.
Just did my microwave (in advance!)
I woke up this morning at 4:15 so tomorrow it will be 3:14 am. Great.
Well, one good thing about living in Arizona…
Presumably, you are not in the Navajo Nation areas, which do observe daylight time.
D1 is working an overnight shift tonight. She hates “Fall Back” with a passion. She says there is nothing worse than watching 2am happen, then the clock turns back to 1:01am and you have to wait another hour for it to be 2 am again. Makes the night extra long and dreary.
This the 7th year in a row she’s been assigned to work “Fall Back” night.
