Sad News for CC Community: fallenchemist

We have sad news for the College Confidential community. David Krost, better known here as @fallenchemist, has passed away. David was an amazing contributor to our community, both as part of our moderator team and as member always willing to offer helpful advice.

In particular, David was very helpful with his encyclopedic knowledge of Tulane University. @TulaneJeff brought us the sad news earlier in the day with this thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tulane-university/1932445-fallen-chemist-p1.html

Our thoughts and prayers go out to David’s family and friends.

It’s helpful people like David that have made CC the great resource that it is, and he will be missed.

He was such a positive resource and so thoughtful and responsive. As a grad of Tulane Law School & a former NOLA resident, I feel very sad and my thoughts and prayer are with his family.

Thank you for posting this to let us know although I am very saddened to hear about this. I only knew his online presence as Fallen Chemist but found his posts very helpful and his moderation very fair and balanced.

I have known David since his daughter’s college journey in 2008. She was a year behind my DS at Tulane. He was understandibly very proud of his 2 kids. Condolences to the family.

This is very sad news. David will be sorely missed here on CC. He was a very thoughtful and fair moderator. He also made significant contributions in his posts on a range of college topics. He was a true ambassador on Tulane forums as a proud alum. So very sorry for the loss to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Sad news regarding the Fallen Chemist. My daughter and I always looked forward to his posts when going through the admissions process 2 years ago. I still go back often to see what he has posted and will miss his insight in the future. He certainly had an impact on my daughters decision to attend Tulane. The Fallen Chemist will be missed. RIP.
