"safety" BA/MD schools?

Are there any schools with BA/MD programs that would be relatively easy to get into? I mean schools where, if u have pretty decent stats, you are likely to get in, or atleast get an interview. I know schools like Northwestern, Case Western Reserve, Brown, Rice, etc are like impossible to get into, even if your a total genious. What about schools like penn state, boston u, etc?

decent stats (for a BA/MD program) = near perfect test scores; lots of extracurriculars, leadership, comm service, awards?

thanks

Sorry, i think they are all pretty competitive. You couldn't count any as a safety. Imagine if there was a program that was so easy to get into... it would quickly become innundated with applicants wanting a safety BA/MD program. Then it would be forced to become really selective like all the rest.

This is kind of like asking which Ivy should be my safety, you know?

penn state is actually ranked no. 3 as far as progs go (rice at 1, plme at 2).....and boston is also top tier....

there really aren't any bad programs, sure some are easier to get into, but they're isn't a "bad" ba/md program

well then i'm assuming you don't really stress about the reputation of the program--maybe there are some substandard undergrads affiliated with some programs, but in the end, you figure med school is med school, right? i agree to some extent, but then you have to think about what you're going to be doing after med school--i'd assume that a degree from reputable ba/md program would do you well in competing for top-notch residencies....which any M.D. wouldn't mind having, you know? but then again, an M.D. degree is an M.D. degree.....i only know what med school my doctor graduated from because I wanted some insight.

I've heard from pros in the field, they don't care where you went, as long as you can be a good doctor

Becoming a great physician is more a function of the student than of the teacher & the school.

I understand that undergrad. and med. schools dont really matter that much in the long run... but, either way, could anyone tell me what schools are exactly "top tier"? I found this one website that ranked the top 15 programs (accelerated.bizland.com or something) but it did not seem very current. are the "top tier" programs the most selective (cause i hear brown offers like 60 seats!)??

the authors of that site you refer to are very reliable sources about progs, theneel......
