safety/match advice? also chances, please.

Please chance for specific colleges-it's really helpful.

Colleges of Great Interest:

MIT (dream school, of course)
Wellesley
Mt. Holyoke
UChicago
Amherst
Williams

GPA: 3.94 unweighted
ACT: 30 composite, took it in 9th grade
PSAT: 198, again, took it in 9th grade

AP: Took AP Calculus AB as a sophomore (super-honors kids usually take it in junior year), got a 4 on the AP test, A-/B+ in the class.

Am taking US History and English Lit this year, probably around 3 APs next year.

Strong extracurriculars: Heavily involved in theater, captain of Knowledge Bowl team since sophomore year, Science Olympiad, state-qualifiers for both teams multiple years. National Honor Society, biotech and psychology research, school newspaper staff. Strong intensive summer programs as well. (I'm really, really hoping to get into RSI this summer...we'll see!)

Great teacher recommendation opportunities, especially in the sciences.

Also, completely self-driven. My parents don't know what to do with me!

Interests:
Biology/pre-med (really unique, I know)
Theater (minor, probably)

Thank you very much for your time.

Ok, well I think you should wait a little longer before you post all your stats, because this year will matter a lot as you are a junior I believe. Oh yes and take the ACT again. For MIT the average is around 32-33, so by boosting it those extra few points and doing good in school you will have good chances. Try to keep the high GPA and load up for Senior year. Make sure to tell MIT about your personal qualities because that is the most important thing to them, considering that most applicants have near perfect grades and scores. You must stand out. After that all you can do is hope.

Your ECs are very good, and it sounds like your recommendations will be as well. Just concentrate on retaking the ACT (which will probably rise; 30 in 9th grade is very good) and getting straight A's this year to bring up the GPA a little bit.
