Hi. I'm currently a junior in high school and I know that its getting close for me to start applying to colleges. I want to major in nursing and here are my general informations.

Weighted GPA: 3.4
Unweighted GPA : 3.295
Class rank: Top 50%
Im in IB certificate and some dual credit classes...

Here's my list of colleges so far that I have in mind

University of Illinois - Chicago

University of Colorado - Denver

Kansas University

Texas Tech University

Texas State University

and that's about it... I think Texas State University would be my safety school out of these schools and (no offense to cc students) but I really would like to go to a 4 years university to start off.
I know I should have more than 1 safety school and I was wondering if any of you can recommend me some decent nursing school for a safety school!

And it would be very helpful if anyone can recommend me some colleges for someone who has a so so(?) grades...

Are you okay in terms of paying for these options? Safeties as well as matches do include the pay option too. Getting in is just the first step. What are your state school options?

happymomof1: I’m in the state of Texas, and I didn’t discuss about it with my counselor because they told us that they will pull us out to talk towards the end of the school year. How about the job market? Do you know if the job market will get any better? B/C I’m hearing that being a nurse doesn’t guarantee you a job right after graduation anymore…

cptofthehouse: Well, as long as it’s not private school tuition high my parents think it will be fine but they said they would like it better if I go to a school in state (Texas). I’m currently thinking of Texas Tech University and Texas State University because other people have been telling me that those are the big schools that is actually known out side of Texas? Is that true?
