Lately when I have been going on the NU website I have noticed a few robbery notices. I'll be a freshman at NU in the fall and I was just wondering do current students feel safe on and around campus?

I visited overnight last week, and I was walking around campus at around 1130pm and I felt safe as home. Obviously watch out for shady characters and don't wander into sketchy areas, but other than that, I don't feel that it's necessarily "dangerous" nor should you have to lose sleep over it.

cool, thanks for the response! I was just curious...

no one really worries too much. girls walk in groups late at night.

NU posts even off-campus robberies; as far as I know, no other school does that on their main page.

I have never felt unsafe on campus -- granted I am a 6'3" guy -- but the same goes for almost all the girls I know. While there have been more incidents, there isn't a real security panic or anything. And, as Same Lee points out, NU posts off-campus things just to make sure students and faculty are well aware of everything. If anything, it's more reassuring that there are notifications.
