Hey, my name is Kristen, I'm going into architecture. "groupiegurl143" is an atrocious screenname and I want to change it but don't want to have to create a new account.

Anyways, I thought I'd start a thread for the class of 2013 SAID students at DAAP, University of Cincinnati because there'e only 80 of us, 40 Interior Design and 40 architecture. I thought it'd be nice to chat before this fall
:)

hi kristen. our daughter, JUlie, will be in DAAP Architecture this coming fall too! maybe you and she could exchange emails, etc. We live just over the line in Indiana…not too far…like 40 miles. Julie is super excited to come to DAAP…what about you? what other schools did you apply to? She applied to UK and Notre Dame and Indiana University. thanks! (this is her mom typing)

I applied to Ball State and Kent State, I was going to apply to Ohio State, but I really hated both the school and the program after visiting (they believe that co-op is completely pointless!) and I was going to apply to Miami-Oxford, but I didn’t have time to get a portfolio together at the time. UK was another option, but, my step-sister is a senior this year as well and is attending UK, I didn’t want to go to the same school as her.

You can give Julie my email if you want, it’s kristen-mason@hotmail.com
I have a facebook too, she can find me on there at Kristen Brianna Mason.

I’m definitely excited too, UC was my second-pick (Ball State was the first, I LOVED the school and campus), but after visiting I couldn’t pass it up. Even though, with scholarships, the out-of-state at Ball State ended up being only $100 difference from UC’s in-state for me.

Hey Kristen. I was wondering how you knew about the number of SAID sudents coming in this fall? I applied as a transfer student on February and still haven’t received their response. For us is a whole different deal and according to DAAP, they’re still adding students as of this Monday, May 18th…

Thanks

They told me at the SAID reception before the Cincinnatus competition at a visit they were cutting the number down to 35-40 freshmen.

Well it turned out I am admitted…I guess I’ll see you this fall!
