Saint John's University NYC : NEW Dorms & More

Saint Johns is one of the schools I am going to apply to . I know that they have new dorms in
The making right now . I hear they are supposed to be done by Fall`09. I hear that this is a commuter school especially since there was limited housing . Does anyone go here or know someone who goes here or just of any knowledge - think that the commuter problem will be resolved one the new dorms come in ? Do you think that the school will be more livley once the new dorms are made and more people can move in what is your input on this ! Please let me know . Also tell me everything and anything you know about saint johns ...

If yo know anything about these schools please fill me in on them too - thanks !

Hofstra University
Fordham University

Fordham has two campuses, one in midtown near Lincoln Center, the other in the Bronx. I believe (do correct me if I’m wrong) undergrads choose which campus to be their “home campus.”

The Lincoln Center campus has a more cosmo, urban feel to it while the one in the Bronx looks more like a traditional college campus (greenery, nice stone/brick buildings). Of couse there are pros and cons to both.

Lincoln Center PROS: middle of Manhattan, near Lincoln Center (vey cultured part of town), convenient access to nearly everything in NYC. CONS: No traditional campus, can feel a bit disconnected and not a big feeling of community

Bronx Campus PROS: More traditional, prettier, cohesive campus. CONS: In the Bronx (and less convenient).
