<p>How long after receiving the call did you receive your emails? I got an invite over the phone yesterday, but still haven’t gotten an email…</p>

<p>Rose39, I had the same problem actually. I contacted my admissions counselor and she doesn’t know why, so she is checking it out, but probably won’t be able to until monday.</p>
<p>We’ll be attending the weekend of February 25 through 28. Really looking forward to visiting the campus. So great that son will be able to sit in on classes and even stay overnight with a student. Definitely makes it worth the trip.</p>

<p>does anyone know what the “formatted essay” we are supposed to attach is supposed to be?? is that just the essay we wrote for the application and we r supposed to resend it or?</p>
<p>What I understand, it is the original essay, but formatted. We had trouble sending my daughters, (our outlook express… dat files) I think he said it need to be a docx file. We got it sent via anothers email.</p>
<p>Yeah, I called in and they said that it was just supposed to be the old essay that you already sent in for the competition. </p>

<p>wait - someone said 200 get the invite, but I was thinking only 100 do. does anyone know this # for sure? also, I sent my formatted essay and reponse in a day late - do you think that will be factored in b/c if it is it probably isn’t worth my time (or money) to go. They said I had until monday morn or I would be d-qed.
To clarify: it was supposed to be in on the 22nd, on the 22nd I received a message from counselor saying I had until monday morn. so I called him back and left message that I was planning to send it on Friday (the 22nd) at night, but if I had till mon. I may do it on the 23rd also. then I saw that the deadline really was the 23rd — if anyone understands this, can I have some feedback?</p>

<p>500 got the invite according to two personal calls to SLU. How many are actually going? Idk. With a ~6% chance to getting this scholarship, it’s seemingly easier to get into an ivy based on these stats. </p>
<p>I’m not going because of money concerns. It’s not worth the my time and my parents’ time and money to go to STL for a scholarship with such low odds. The only way I was going to SLU was if I got the presidential, but at the time I assumed SLU would’ve paid for travel expenses/make local arrangements like other colleges do… </p>
<p>SLU should’ve picked fewer finalists in the first place so they can pay for all students. I mean, this is putting the poor students who truly need this scholarship in order to go to college at a major disadvantage. They’re deserve this scholarship just as much as we do, yet they’re pretty much disqualified because they can’t pay for the trip in the first place.</p>
<p>So I am in the same position that you guys were in a year ago. I have been called and invited to the interview weekend (yay!) And I was wondering if any of you had any advice you could give me. I would really appreciate anything you could tell me about the weekend and the interview process or if any of you were selected for the scholarship. Thanks!</p>
