Saint Mark's class 2012

Hi all,

I am likely to go to Saint Mark's. I like to have a new thread about
Saint Mark's class 2012 to know each other in advance.

I am waitlisted in Choate, Deerfield, Groton, and Hotchkiss. But I don't think
I can rely on waiting list, and I pretty much decided to go to Saint Mark's.

I am hearing it is a pretty good school and have a beautiful campus in Southboro, MA. Of course, the number of students is small school. It is about the same size as Groton and Middlesex. That is what I like about.
Groton is their football rival. St. Grottlesex is a good leage!

Their college matriculation is almost as good as other schools like Choate and
Hotchkiss. I love it!

Please come and join! Yahoooooo!

Congratulations, erkybk! I am sure you're going to have a great time at St. Mark's. I am a St. Mark's parent. It's a small school, and not many people at St. Mark's post on this forum, I've noticed. But I am sure you will have a great time there. Congratulations again.

My d was accepted to SM, Hill, St. AndrewsDEL, Brooks. She is thinking toward St. Marks. Will you go to visit back day?

Yes, I was admitted to Middlesex and Saint mark's. My parents like Saint Mark's and I like it better, too. It is about 30 minutes from my house. I am a
boarder, though. My parents looked into Saint Mark's very hard, I believe
he made a right decision. Hope to see you there. I will visit the second
revisit day(Saturday). I am waitlisted on Deerfield, Groton, and Hotchkiss.
I will go to Saint Mark's no matter what. I know that school very well since it is close to my home. I am looking forward to seeing you and your D.

My D is a St. Marker now! Great revisit day.

st. marks is awesome in my opinion.
anyone tell me if the chance of a korean getting in is good :P

Yes, the revisit day was awesome. Dorms are great!. They have a new
masterplan to renovate the buildings amd they have reinforced
the colloege counciling office, and they have a new schoolhead from Milton.
I believe they will be a top school soon. My parents and I are very happy
with the school. They have a pretty campus as well.

:O I’m going to St. Mark’s next year as a member of the Class of 2012!!!

Josh, congratulations on your decision for SMS! I recall your dilemma in choosing between SMS & NMH. With a daughter at SMS (returning V former), and as an NMH alum, I was wondering which way you would twitch. Cheers–you’ve made a great choice.

Thanks Klements ^^^ Yeah, it was an extremely tough decision. I was SO close in choosing NMH, when I just took a 360 turn and decided to choose SMS…I mean, it was a pretty spur-in-the-moment kind of thing to do, but I’m actually really happy with my decision. Since I’ve chosen SMS I’ve figured out several things I didn’t originally know about it (I actually didn’t know much about chapel when I applied, and now I know much more, and I actually like the idea of it :))which just makes me happier with my decision :)

Josh–may I ask what was your deciding factor…was it just a “feeling”?

I think it was more of a…like, change of scene. Usually, I would go with the safest option. Like, at first I was accepted to NMH as a junior but accepted at SMS as a repeat sophomore. And, at a first I immediately decided to go to NMH, since there was really no way I would repeat 10th grade. But, I weighed the pros and cons and decided that repeating wouldn’t be a horrible idea. And then, one day, I got an e-mail from the Diversity Coordinator asking me if I was thinking about attending SMS. So I told her that I was seriously thinking about attending, but that repeating 10th grade wasn’t exactly completely getting to me. Anyways, in the end the admissions committee re-evaluated my application and decided I was suitable for 11th grade. And so, now, here I am :)

But, I also remember in the beginning of the entire application process, St. Mark’s was my first choice (and then it moved on to Choate). But then I got waitlisted at Choate…and well, like I said, here I am :)
