^ can anybody prove what kramer said? I'm not trying to sound cynical, just curious, because I'm applying for 10th grade next year to St. Mark's.

and I'm sure a ton of unregistered lurkers would like this answered too ;)

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. I appreciate it so much.

I think that's true. I heard somewhere that they over-enrolled last year and are admitting only around ten tenth-graders for the class of 2011, and no eleventh graders at all. But you should probably check with their website or admissions office.

i actually heard that too.but my information may be wrong, so you can check more reliable sources.

Darn, I just learned a bunch of great info about this school, I should have applied!!!! Grrr! Hahahahaha, Grotonitis!

Is it true Middlesex is the most cliquey of the St. Grottelsex schools?

Oh I know this is kind of a late response, but someone mentioned something about "overrepresented" countries and international students. I think there's quite a few Koreans now, but most of their Chinese students graduated so if you're coming from China, you're in luck.

yeah I know one of the koreans that go there. it seems so many of them have gone to certain schools this year, that it's an overflow of koreans.
well it's for certain that last year's graduating class was full of smart people (in the int'l schools in korea i mean) but this year's is much more "active" if you get what I mean. So I'm afraid that it might weaken my own chances, which I will find out next year same time four days later =/
by any chance, do you know how many koreans boo?

SMSDAD,

You said you heard the're over-enrolled and that they're only admitting around ten 10th graders. Does that mean they are only accepting five 10th grade girls?

I need to check that. My daughter told me this. I don't want to put bad information on this forum, but I understand that the school is over-enrolled because its yield last year was high.

Wow, this is great!!

Though we first went to the St Mark's interview as a practice, we were very impressed with the school. Thanks St. Mark's!!!

Congrats melamede! I thought you had a daughter applying to boarding school? Did she also get accepted somewhere?

hi, nope! My daughter is applying to college!
Thanks!

Has anyone heard from St. Mark's yet?

I haven't but my friend got one of the ten 10th grade spaces!

I heard from them yesterday, I also got one of the 10th grade spaces.

Yesterday was a sunday, how did u hear?

By e-mail?

Yeah, but I live in Colombia so maybe it's different for international students.

2 of my classmates received acceptance letters to st. mark's today and I didn't get anything. Does that mean I wasn't accepted?

You don't know yet Kramer. The letter could have gotten lost in the mail or something. You'll probably find out tomorrow. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

St. Mark's is a really good school but I'm not sure I want to go there because my sis goes there and we don't get along that well. She loves it though.

I got it!
I received email from them. My dad asked them how they're going to
let us know last week. They asked our email address to send the decision, and
we recived the acceptance letter by email today. They said it was a record
high application.

They told that to my sister last year too, and all my answers came with a "it was a record high application," so I don't really believe it.
