Hey Parents,

This summer I'm going to be interning as a Fixed Income Sales & Trading Summer Analyst. I am looking to get some pointers on how to do well and hopefully land the full-time offer.

From reading around, I've realized that in S&T, it all depends on your desk and the goal is to be well-liked by the traders on that desk. Since I'll need a license to trade, for the most part, I'll be fetching coffee / food and doing some research / booking PnL.

Could anyone of you give me further details on what to expect and tips on succeeding at it?

So far I plan on:

Arriving Early, Leaving Late

Making sure to do even the smallest of task as perfectly as I can (gain their trust)

Ask smart questions at the right times (slow hours during trading, etc.)

Listen, read, and learn as much as I can both on and off the job

Connect with the traders

Get work done as soon as possible and double checking it; ask for more work when done

What else can you think of?

Thanks in advance.
