Does anyone know if Notre Dame's application has the same essay prompts each year? I won't be applying for another year, but was given an English assignment the other day to write a college essay in response to a prompt of a college we plan on applying to in the future. I know last year one of the topics was what you're passionate about..anyone know if this is a recurring prompt?

It wasn't for the class of 2007; I forget what my son wrote about, but it wasn't that one...

The essay prompts for last year were as follows. (By last year, I mean son applied EA on November 1, 2005 for admission for Fall, 2006).
1. Students at the University of Notre Dame are passionate! Their passion gives direction and definition to campus academic, community, and spiritual life. Recognizing that you have provided a list of ECs, please briefly describe your greatest passion and tell us how it defines and directs you.
2. St. Therese of Lisieux wrote in Story of a Soul, "The sun shines equally both on cedars and on every tiny flower." She reminds us that beauty can be found in the great and the small, in the extraordinary and the mundane. Show us the magnificence of the simple in your life.
3. Write a personal statement with content of your own choosing. Narrow the focus to most effectively share yourself with us.

Don't know how this compares to this year, but hope this helps. Good Luck!

those are the same as this year's

thank you, especially for the written out prompts. i couldnt figure out a way to pull them up on nd's website without creating a login ID (ill save that for later on down the road) ill go with the passion topic for the assignment and tweak it as necessary for next year. thanks again!
