SAN DIEGO STATE 2021 RESULTS THREAD

@Gumbymom thanks for the info! my EI is 990 so I’m trying to stay positive, good thing i have back ups.

Still waiting to hear status still pending. Can someone help me figure my D’s EI? I am trying to figure my D’s EI, and I am confused as to why CSU only allows you to get extra GPA points for 2 semester of AP in 10th grade. My D took 2 AP’s and 4 Honors semesters in 10th grade. If I calculate using all her honors/ AP classes GPA is 3.77, and if I only use 2 for 10th grade, it is 3.41. On her common app, it says 3.7 as her CSU GPA. Also, instructions say you can get credit for AP’s taken in senior year, but applications are sent in October before grades are final. Very confusing!
Act: 31
SAT: 1370
What would her correct EI be?

@elmodiego: You get up to 8 semesters of extra honors points for UC approved Honors, AP, IB or DE courses taken 10-11th grade.
So 2 AP classes in 10th grade= 4 extra honors points if the are both year long classes. The maximum extra honors points for 10th grade is capped at 4 semesters, so the 4 Honors classes in 10th grade will not count. What about 11th grade? How many AP or UC approved Honors classes did she take?

Thanks @Gumbymom , that is very helpful. So with 6 credits for Ap/ Honors 4 for 10th grade, and 2 for 11th) , her weighted gpa is 3.68. that makes her EI sat: 4314 ACT 1046. Business Finance major, and we are in the local San Diego district. Hope to get some good news soon. Good luck to all!

From last year’s thread, denials should be coming out next week?

Portal for DS has not changed. I’m getting a little worried that his stats were not good enough for Biology.
CSU GPA: 3.81 W
EI: 4268
In State

My son was accepted back in December for kinesiology. We are in state but up north. We haven’t been there to check it out yet. He was waitlisted for his first choice Cal poly but is just as excited to attend SDSU. We will be heading down soon to check it out. Any advice would be great.

@marshmallow24 @sdlife17 my son applied for Biology as well and the date on the portal still says Nov 30th. :frowning:

@Gumbymom DS has EI of 4268, CSU GPA of 3.81 W and he applied for Biology. Can you please chance him?

@stepasidepeasant did you find out via email or portal? Congrats on your acceptance!

Weird, I have not seen ANY admissions decisions posted for Mathematics in this years AND last years threads… starting to get worried. If anybody has gotten in for math or even still waiting for a decision could you crawl out of the woodworks? Would be nice to know whats going on.

Received my acceptance on 2/22
Major - Comp Sci
ACT - 24
Old sat - 1680
new sat - 1080
CSU GPA 4.0

i beat the statistics … standarized tests are a joke btw anything is possible

My daughter is still pending for statistics. Accepted at Cal Poly slo, but still want to have options…

@momzof3: SDSU had 6649 applicants for Biology last year and accepted 2301 so around a 35% acceptance rate. Biology is one of the most popular and competitive majors at SDSU. Based on previous years EI’s, a 4268 should be competitive, but it all depends upon the stats from this year’s applicants. The lowest EI posted this year for Biology has been 4532 and in past years I have seen some acceptances in the 4150+ range. Much will depend upon how your son compares to the other applicants. Sorry, but cannot give you any guarantees.

@Gumbymom do you have stats for last year’s nursing applicants?? My EI is a 4600+ and I’m wondering how likely I am to get accepted

@moody75 congrats on your son’s acceptance! Did he apply for excercise science?? I applied for pre physical therapy and i still havent heard back!

@Gumbymom 4532? Yowza! He’s been accepted to a few private schools back East but I’m hoping to keep him closer to home. I may be the only one stressing out over SDSU in my household right now. haha Thanks for the input - much appreciated.

@moody75 congratulations. May I suggest you start a thread on visiting. You may get more help that way.

Has anyone heard back from the Liberal Studies major? My stats aren’t great and i’m kinda worried
In-State (San Bernardino County)
GPA-3.55
ACT-25
SAT-1240

@lexib324 my daughter was accepted as a Liberal Studies major. Same ACT score as yours but with a 4.17 GPA so her EI came a little higher at 1084. Did you apply to Cal State San Marcos? Theirs is an excellent program as well. Regardless of where she gets her bachelor’s, my daughter will most likely go to Cal State San Marcos for her credential (preferring it over SDSU) because of the reputation of their program and because they partner with the school districts where she would like to teach. Best wishes to you.
